We’re edging closer to bringing Bear home for good – yesterday, and again today, he came over for a little visit so that David and the cats could get used to the idea. I’ve been getting more and more nervous and second guessing whether I’d done the right thing
it actually went off much better than expected.
…of course MissC is ready to pack her bags and move out, but that’s not all that unusual
Sophie is reserving judgement but submitted to a couple of sniffings by the little bloke
Oakley just gave him a cautious sniff and then moved over and shared a bowl of chicken – obviously that old saw about ‘the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach’ also applies to some cats.
David is phobic about animals [ which is kind of unfortunate given who his mother is ] and not suprisingly he was apprehensive and a bit vocal about the new arrival … but on the whole, much better than I expected him to be and he even consented to a photo op. It was Bear’s turn to look a wee bit uncertain hereBear and his siblings are almost certainly fox terrier/ pomeranian/shi-tzu crosses
and Bear’s little sister is now [ finally and officially ] to be known as Molly. For a while there it looked like she might end up as Nadie – or Heidi or Tammy – but Pete had final say and Molly it is.
* and for my non-aussie friends, this is the first line of the theme song of an iconic australian children’s television program, still going strong after forty-two years:
There’s a bear in there
and a chair as well
There’s people with games
and stories to tell
